Although our camping trip to San Mateo Campground at San Onofre State Beach was postponed, I look forward to returning there soon. For those who don’t know, there is a proposed toll road extension of the Foothill South Toll Road that would cut through this state park. The campground would be destroyed, the natural flow of San Mateo Creek would be disturbed, animals would lose natural habitat, and the beach and surfing resources would be degraded.
